Tip of the Day: Ethics When Couponing
Recently there is a lot of controversy in some of the trade groups.
Even though we aren’t a trade group, it’s a good idea to talk about this.
Using coupons is a privilege, not a right.
The use of coupons is intended to help reduce the cost of groceries, or maybe try a new product.
Couponing was never intended to be a business venture.
There are some people who take couponing to extremes. Some, not all, will abuse the system and can ruin it for others.
Companies who find out that coupons are being abused might stop issuing coupons publicly.
There are also some groups that promote shady use of coupons or price matching. Choose your groups wisely.
It’s always up to you what you do. No one can tell you what to do. If it doesn’t feel right, don’t do it. What you do can affect all of us.
This is not intended to attack anyone or point fingers, but to make us all aware that there are repercussions to our actions even in the coupon world.
Let’s make sure we’re able to coupon for a long time. Please coupon ethically.
Have your say below, but please keep it clean.
